  Swamp cooler is on. When the lion kingdom sees the BLS graph, it only sees 10 years where inflation just happened in Calif* instead of the national city average, followed by the last 3 years when the Calif* city average became the national city average. The 1979 rise no longer shows up compared to today. The graph is steeper in the last 3 years than at any other point & every other steep climb led to a recession. The stonk market must have been surprised by the latest 12% annualized rise.  For 15 years, we got used to the idea that inflation was just a Calif* thing.  It didn't count as the national city average, so the government would never raise interest rates no matter how high inflation was.  Everyone in Kansas is now a multi millionaire.  

 The stonk market is playing chicken with the government's highly manipulated inflation reports, much like playing chicken with Elon's whimsical buyout offers.  It could come in much lower than expected, sending stonks to the moon or much higher than expected, crashing stonks.   The lion kingdom's personal experience shows prices not increasing anymore after doubling & tripling in 2021.  Lots of stuff isn't made anymore.  Stuff which still exists isn't continuing to go up.  The inflation report doesn't count what isn't made anymore so something which quadruples in price & then disappears counts as no inflation. The mane problem for stonks is how far the fed goes.  Is it going to live with inflation above 5% or continue tightening to get it below 2%?  Is it going to live with a fed balance sheet above $8 trillion or continue selling it off? 400m at 6:30 pace was a lot harder than it should have been.   Another unopposed democrat landslide snatched from imminent defeat. What was surprising was the lack of opposition despite everyone being homeless & inflation over 10%. The only real contest is socialist democrats vs. liberal democrats. There isn't a republican party anymore. An independent who ran as a democrat is no longer democrat enough. Anyone who would have been a republican 40 years ago is now a democrat because there's no future as republicans. The secret to making palo alto networks work in virtualbox is to statically configure all the networking in /etc/rc.local.  Rename dhclient, Networkmanager to dhclient.bak, NetworkManager.bak to disable them.  Dhclient doesn't do anything which can't be statically configured.  The pangps, pangpa programs all run after /etc/rc.local.  The problem is they have a race condition with dhclient & networkmanager. This doesn't fix DNS.  DNS still requires bodging a nameserver in /etc/resolv.conf.   Cisco never had any problems.  It managed to coexist with dhclient, networkmanager, & DNS. Dreamed about the stonk market falling to the 25-30k position as predicted.  Unlike the prediction, it felt a lot worse in reality & there was a lot of uncertainty about how low it would go.  Reality is a drop of 50% would be unprecedented & short lived.   They knew more in 1922 than we do now.  The unattainable ones were already on their 3rd billionaire by age 40.  The difference between 1st rate men & 3rd rate may not be as dramatic in Kansas.   The government began testing a reduction in its fed balance sheet in April, which means current stonk prices already reflect the balance sheet reduction planned for June.  This made the lion kingdom more skeptical about the bear market narrative.   The mane has chosen.  Pray a republican named Chocolate doesn't run for office.

The lion kingdom suspects there will be concessions & a Korean style stalemate, manely because the separatist regions were already gone before the war. The war seems to be over now. The only remaneing fighting is what was already being fought over since 2014. The difference since 2014 is Ukraine is using the invasion as a pretext to import weapons. The internet doesn't seem to know if the separatist regions really want to be part of Russia or if the idea is another Putin myth.
